The Eighth Decade

------Archaeologists discover a 375,000,000 year old fossil. The creature is part fish with four legs, another in-between animal to fill a leftover gap in the evolution-story. Bird flu becomes a threat. The wars in Afghanistan and Iraq continue.

Buckthorn, a plant not native to Minnesota, overran the woods around the house over the last few years while I wasn't looking. In order to get rid of this bush, people have to pull it out by the roots, and the state regularly calls for volunteers to help get the foreign invader out of the parks, off the river banks, etc. Some of my buckthorn plants had already grown to twenty feet high and choked out other species, evolution in my own back yard. And side yard. And front yard. I spent two to three hours a day starting in May to get rid of this stuff.

I played a couple of roles in The Music Man, and sometime after that, my artist girlfriend dumped me. I hope these dumpings don't become a habit.

In August, I started rehearsing for 45 Seconds from Broadway but then got Lyme disease from a deer tick.
