Chapter Eighteen

The Ninth Decade

This is what I'd like to do starting in this decade: contact extraterrestrials. What, who said that? I know. If you already doubt the extraterrestrial piece of The Theory of More Than Everything, the idea of trying to contact aliens sounds like absolute insanity. But just think; we might be missing an important piece of the big picture, and can't we use a little help to save this planet?

I don't mind being ridiculed if there's a chance an experiment will accelerate forming a partnership with them. (It's too important.) I'm also willing to be frightened (needing a change of underwear) if I actually meet any. To make this endeavor as scientific as possible, I've set up the following criteria:

1) Visual contact means we must see the object within one hundred feet, so we can describe its shape. (We're excluding distant lights in the sky.)

2) More than one observer must see the object to ensure against delusions. (Others have already volunteered as witnesses for this experiment.)
