Not long ago, I spotted a book called The Big Bang Never Happened in a public library. I repeat: The Big Bang Never Happened in a public library. But maybe it never happened anywhere. The author of the book, Eric J. Lerner, a physicist and science writer enters the fray with plasma cosmology. What? Plasma cosmology? I'd never heard of this kind of cosmology before, and perhaps you haven't either. We'll even have to spend some time explaining just the word "plasma," but the book was refreshing to read since it showed some real passion, a rarity in scientific explorations. I was able to get a new copy at a bookstore to use as background for this chapter.
