Chapter 0-Page 0

Think of the universe as evolving smoothly all the way along. No big leaps occur between "nothing" and something, something and particles, particles and chemicals, chemicals and life, life and conscious life, conscious life and super-conscious life, super-conscious life and god. The Theory of More Than Everything can be summed up as follows:

The universe naturally evolves based on one rule: A form which uses energy (or matter) more efficiently will beat out a less-efficient form.

ASSUMPTIONS

In order to go forward with TTOMTE, we have to assume the following:

  1. Our observations are reliable. All the billions of us aren't hallucinating. We aren't being controlled in some giant computer game as in the movie, Matrix (great movie, by the way). We aren't in a fantasy or dream where we wake up with all the rules changing.
  2. Actuality defines the universe. I'm separating the words real and actual. We want to understand actuality, what actually exists. We'll leave reality and real as what we realize. Our reality accepts a solid table top, but actuality says the table top is mostly space.

    Appendix A: 15 Reality, 16 Alternate Reality

Reality changes all the time. You may be in your room reading with the door shut and the curtain on the window closed. Your world is a very small place but step outside, and the world grows to thousands of miles wide. When people say you can create your own reality, they are not talking about actuality, only your experience of it: You can enjoy a cloudy day, or you can hate it.

  3. There can be pure chance. As long as we don't bother to dig too deep.
  4. The rest is cause and effect. We're not allowing for magic.
