  1. If one accepts PP3 (matter comes into existence steadily), then this combination says matter and energy can start up, but they can never shut down. Again, laws of the universe have to change at times.

The need for laws of the universe to change makes this scenario unlikely.

FP2 - ALL MATTER AND ENERGY WILL DISAPPEAR AT SOME POINT

Some may accept the end-of-the-world idea from the Bible and use the term 'world' to mean more than just the Earth, but most people don't believe in an end of the universe like this. Of the three endgame possibilities, this is one scientists throw away without a thought; they simply think the universe may fade into a worthless state with leftover pieces scattered around. Our objections to FP2 are similar to those to PP2, and some strange assumptions follow:

  1. FP2 says that at a certain time, the scientific laws of the universe will stop working, and a new law of disappearance will take over. Again, science doesn't like singular events. Scientists can't imagine the laws of the universe will change at some remote time in the future. Yet they can accept the laws changing sometime in the remote past to bring things into existence in PP2. They don't accept a change from something into nothing but accept nothing into something. Interesting.
  2. At a certain moment, the process of disappearing will end. Not only will there be one special time when things start to go out of existence but also a special time when the process finishes, two very specific moments happening only once.
