  1. Animals had to wait until plants put out some oxygen.
  2. About the time of the first dinosaurs, the gravity was about twice its current force, and they had to crawl or live in swamps. Animals had to wait a few million years before they grew thinner legs, and flying was tough.
  3. As matter goes out of existence, the Earth's core shrinks in size, but the crust, being rigid, will not shrink smoothly along with the core.

  1. At certain times, the crust will pucker and fall inwards shoving whole mountain ranges upwards in places because all of the extra crust has to go somewhere. Other geological theories don't explain ranges well yet.
  2. At other times, parts of the land finds itself sitting on a ridge in the liquid underneath. When the core shrinks more, the land will break off on the two sides of the ridge and slide apart because of the force of gravity, a neat explanation for continental drift.

A shrinking Earth explains some puzzles in biology, geology, and our planet's past.

FINAL THOUGHTS

Is there any evidence matter goes out of existence?

We can think about a couple of things: Recently, a probe sent to Mercury revealed the planet to be shrinking faster than scientists expected. And try this question on for size: Does a planet ever stabilize?
