Above our level:
We can easily make predictions about objects that aren't very complex. If we drop a rock, we can predict it will fall. As the complexity grows, so does the difficulty of making an accurate prediction. If we take hold of a cat's tail, we can predict the cat may pull, snarl, or scratch us. If we throw a ball to a child, he may catch the ball, walk away, laugh, cry, or any number of possibilities. If we curse an adult in traffic, we can't guess what might happen next.
How do we test beings more advanced than we? Earth people can try some of the experiments listed below. The results of these experiments can't be predicted with certainty, but we can, at least, have some expectations. Running experiment number 2 will actually be good for us.
1. If people can get their minds wrapped around the possibility of extraterrestrials, we'll be seeing more UFOs in the near future. Many people saw that flying object at O'Hare airport in January of 2007 as reported in newspapers.
2. If we realize we are an endangered species and start working together, the extraterrestrials will begin communicating with us. Again, why should they get involved with hornets?
3. If we are in danger of destroying all life on the planet, higher beings will take some steps. This may be wishful thinking, but I can't believe they came all this way only to watch us finish ourselves off.
Now it's your turn.
